History
Marulan Driver Training Centre was officially opened in 2009 and after 5 ½ years of operation and a diverse range of activities being held there, including all levels of Driver Training, Motor Cycle Rider Training, Race Driver Training, Track Days, Time Trials, Hill Climbs, V8 Superlap drives and rides and major car manufacturers using the facility for new vehicle testing and new vehicle releases. In 2015 it held a full motor racing event with iRace.
The circuit was designed and built by Garry Willmington, a veteran of circuit racing with over 40 years of motor sport experience as both a driver and promoter.
Garry began racing in 1971 in a Ford Anglia Sports Sedan and from then progressed to many categories including Group C and Group A Touring Cars, V8 Supercars, Super Trucks and Speedway competition.
His long resume of motorsport achievements includes 21 x Bathurst 1000 starts (including a class win and several privateer high placing’s), 3 x 12 Hour Endurance starts and during his 10 years of racing Super Trucks when this category first started racing in Australia Garry achieved multiple race wins and track records.
Garry became a motor sport promoter in the year 2000 and has since been heavily involved in the promotion of motor sport at all levels and enjoys sharing his wealth of knowledge with both visitors and competitors at events at MDTC.
Garry’s passion for motor sport is shared by his wife Natalie who herself has a very impressive motorsport resume. Natalie has been a competitor in drag racing, burn out competitions and production car racing. Nat has competed in National Titles and won Class Titles and Ladies Titles in each of the categories she has competed in.
Following in mum & dad’s motor sport footsteps is their 17 year old son. Braydan has been racing speedway since turning 12 years of age and is currently racing in a Speedcar (Midget) and Legend Car. Braydan occasionally competes in tarmac racing including Time Trials and the popular Cheap Car Challenge Enduro.

The “Pit Lane Café” is open from 8am to 4pm on each day the facility is open with freshly made to order hot and cold food, cold drinks and hot drinks including espresso service and snacks.
Classroom facilities as well as timing, race control and medical facilities are also available at the circuit.
Instructors for all levels of driver training and competition are available on request.
